I happened across the blogging link a few minutes ago and went hmmmmmmmmmm..
I came out here and read my logs. Last March, I was contemplating my 500th find.
That was 800 caches ago. Right now I sit on 1300. It has been a long time.

I'm a bit crisp around the edges right now, not quite burnt out but tired. There's
six inches of snow on the ground and I just don't want to deal with it. I'm
staying home and catching up on all that stuff I've been neglecting while I've Geocached.
There has been a lot of stuff neglected.

I think I need a good long nap.

It is not nearly as much fun caching alone
as it is with Lis Sis Jo. But a woman does what a woman must do. We live so far apart
that it makes it difficult to always cache together. And when the caching urge comes
on, it is hard to resist.

This summer I traveled by car to Steamboat Springs, CO to visit my son Jeff. I cached
a few sites with them in SB as there are only a few. I did not make the 2 mile hike
to the peak of Emerald Mt. Jeff located the cache on one of his daily hikes up Emerald
and reported it in good shape.

Fumbling with instruments and the PDA is not advisable while driving, especially in
the mountains. I opted to clear Denver before I got serious about caching on the return
trip. I cached alone for the first time in Colorado and then all across Kansas. I
met some great people, took pictures, and kept a diary. Caching alone helped me to
learn more about using my instruments, a Garmin eTrex Venture CX, a Garmin Quest for
the car which works as a handheld also, and a Palm Zire 71. Going paperless proved
priceless on such a trip with limited use of my laptop.

I kicked a lot of crusty snow for finds last week and brought my total caches up to
196. We had a snow storm last night and the kids and I plan to do Christmas together
tomorrow the 24th. So Christmas Day will find me looking for four more to reach my
goal. Because we have scoured the country around Columbia (MO) already I will be going
to Jeff City.

As far as I can tell I will be caching alone. Not as much fun, but it has to be done
:-)

The picture is of a Geopath to the oldest cache hidden in Kansas.

A newbie at MOGA '07, I have traversed many hills and valleys, forests
and prairies, city streets and public parks in the last six months. Accompanied in
all by Lil Sis Jo, who is a tiger when it comes to the hunt. A tiger with an eagle
eye...... We set a goal of 100 by Christmas that short six months ago when we had
found a grand total of six. We have upgraded that now to 200 by Christmas as we now
have 130 plus.

I read of the hundreds and thousands found by others and am awed by the amount of

Our first search at MOGA '07 was for Rocky IV hidden by Lancelot. We did not find
it but it is memorable! Just this past weekend we started talking about it and lauged
until the tears came. I kept losing my footing and tumbled around like a roly-poly
on the wet, slippery rocks. I very nearly went into the lake a couple of times. At
that time I was so out of shape I could barely get up by myself. Reminded me of trying
to get up with snow skies strapped on my feet. No way!!

Well, I have toughened up since then...to some degree at least. We just finished out
Spongy's series of four Guns, Germs and Steel in Columbia. That was no small

I hit 500 caches this evening. For some of you, I know that it doesn't sound
like much, but for me, it's a milestone. Not so much the number, but for the
fact that when I started this game, 500 was the initial goal that I sat for myself.
I felt like if I managed to hit 500, I'd have accomplished something. It was a goal,
something to look forward to and something to strive for.

500 caches. Now... it simply looks like a good start.

With any luck, I hope to get all the caches up at MOGA this weekend. That will
give me another 60+ and a good jump toward 700. Where should I set my next goal?
1000? 2000?. I think I'll aim for 1000 and keep it simple.

Cache on. Gee!!! I love this game.

Today I went caching in Leavenworth and Atchison Kansas. I Started the day 9 caches

Molly's Hollow(GCTE5F).

It was a fun cache with the final stage hidden on the side of a bluff.

Our family had a blast today, we got a late start but went down to Cassville to take
in a few geocaches and enjoy the weather. It wasn't until I got down there and
my GPS lit up with all the caches in Mark Twain that I realized how many are down
there!

We're definitely going to go back down with more time and have a picnic or something.
There's also 3 quick and easy caches in Cassville itself that were easy for my younger
kids.

This area will be a great place to rack up a bunch of caches in a short amount of
time as it looks like there are quite a few and most are close to the roads, though
a few are on private property or have little if anywhere to pull over.

Can anyone recommend a "course" kind of area that is contained within a park/forrest
area and has a number of geocaches in it? Aside from myself and family, I'd
like to take our Scout troop to such a place for a day or weekend outing. I'm
not really looking for an event such as MOGA, but something like that with permanant
caches... preferably in the SW Missouri area.

Ok, after a couple more crashes I broke down and installed the latest build of the
blogging application which is said to have the fix for the type of crashes we were
having. Of course this also means that there could be NEW bugs but I'll keep
my fingers crossed.

As always, please let me know if the blogs crash again as soon as possible and provide
any and all details you can as to what you were doing when they went down so I can
get it back up as quickly as possible. Overall I think they'll be more stable
now.

To contact me when the blogs are down, go to the mocahe/mogeo home page at http://www.mocache.net and
